| Lately I have been exploring societies obsession with technology. Does it actually make our lives easier like it was originally intended to or has it added another layer of unnecessary complexities to our lives? Do we really need to be contactable 24 hours a day and what cost does this so called “convenience” really have on our personal lives? This recent obsession came about after having to call my own mobile phone to find it, not just once, but several times and experiencing many bouts of separation anxiety when I have accidentally or forcefully been parted from my phone for only a couple of hours. I have also noticed many of my friends stop interacting with the real world out side their latest gadgets. This has led me to ponder…. do we control technology or does it control us? |
